You wouldn’t think a town of just 30,000 people like Hertford would be home to a venue throwing massive open-air raves, but the Dog & Whistle proves otherwise. The grade II listed pub dates back to the 17th century and adjacent you will find ‘The Venue’, accommodating up to 1,000 punters under a stretch tent, creating a festival-like atmosphere in the warmer months. Previous promoters include included Garage Nation, Groovin, Soultasia and last year the Dog & Whistle even put its name to a brand new festival. Less than an hour train ride from London, an event here may just make for the perfect excuse to leave the big smoke for the weekend.
