Arguably no one has managed to have the same impact on the UK dance music scene as Bicep over the last decade. The Belfast-born duo blends breakbeats, ambient textures, and euphoric synths to create an instantly recognisable sound. A signature sound that seems to work as well in headline festival sets as it does in dimly lit afters, Bicep have a seriously impressive back catalogue. We’ve gone back through this and here’s our definitive ranking of the 10 best Bicep tracks, counting down to the legendary number one.

10 – 808 State – In Yer Face (Bicep Remix)

Released before their first album in 2016, this remix pays tribute to old-school rave with a modern twist. Full of acid stabs, trancey pads, and rave sirens, it’s a more 90’s sound than much of their more modern productions.

9 – Aura

Aura balances a heavy, driving bassline with signature Bicep gleaming melodies. The lead single from their debut album, this set the tone for the sound of both their albums.

8 – Water (Featuring Clara La San)

Their most recent release before the ‘Chroma’ series, the pairing with Clara La San works so well. Her ethereal vocals glide over the heavy, continuously building bassline, leaving a purely euphoric track.

7 – Meli II

An emotional slow-burner that feels like it was made for that 6am walk home from the club. Meli II strips things right back, no drums, just rich pads and a longing, dream-like vocal loop.

6 – Apricots

The second single from 2021 album Isles, Apricots blends a delicate vocal sample with layered pads and a rolling rhythm. A slow burner that turned into a global anthem and helped cement their semi-mainstream crossover.

5 – Spring

Characterised by its layered production and atmospheric synths, Spring is one of stand outs from Isles. The subtle addition of layers over the 7-minute runtime progresses the track beautifully.

4 – Dominica – Gotta Let You Go (Bicep Edit)

Bicep’s rework of Dominica’s 1994 classic retains the essence of the Euro-house anthem, blending it with Bicep’s signature breakbeat style. Crafted in 2015, this has never got an official release but has over 14 million plays on YouTube and always gets a huge reaction in live sets.

3 – Celeste

Released in 2015 on the Just EP, Celeste is one of their most downtempo and minimal cuts, but also one of the most emotive. The tribal drums and dreamy chopped vocals combine for an ambient masterpiece.

2 – Just

A fan favourite and live set staple, Just is one of Bicep’s most hypnotic pieces. Chopped vocals weave through lush percussion, giving the track a trance-like quality.

1 – Glue

What else did you expect? Glue is Bicep at their absolute best. A tribute to rave’s golden era, it merges emotional nostalgia with masterful production. The visuals, the atmosphere, the melancholy, it’s a modern classic that has come to define an entire generation of ravers.
