Another classic from the East London days…
338 usually gets decent artists and is a good spot to go in the summer with the outdoor area. Saw Purple Disco Machine and Mark Knight here a few years back and had a blast.
However the bar is very pricey, security a bit excessive and it always gets too busy. So not my top choice of venue but decent if it’s a smaller name act and it’s a nice day.
Seems to attract a younger crowd, so if you’re late 20s and over I would recommend another venue.
338 definitely deserves its rep. I went to KOTR Royal Rumble and it was very oversold taking >1 hr to get in, way too busy, security were fairly aggressive (both on the door and through the event, pushing people out the way), and no real room to dance. the sound system and production was good given it was Scotland Yard but not sure what its like for other events. the bar was also cash only <£10, with pints being like £8 which is a ridiculous policy/pricing even for London. it does get very good lineups but i think it would have to be pretty special for me to go back
